30 June 2008 - 20:30PLR Content – Not Just for Internet Marketers
Private Label Rights (PLR) content is generally thought to be for one group of people: internet marketers. Either somebody looking to sell the content such as in PLR reports or PLR eBooks or somebody looking to monetize a website or blog with a private label rights article package. Now, this may be your line of thinking – but PLR products have another purpose, a purpose that is missed by a large percentage of online business owners today – Usage Rights Content.
From monstrous, multi-national companies to the average Joe or Jane blogger, PLR content can come in pretty handy. It doesn’t really matter if you plan on using PLR content to turn a profit directly – buying plr products really gives you uber-cheap Usage Rights content that have souped-up licenses.
PLR Products – cheaper than hiring a writer for unique content
Sure, unique and compelling content should be the goal of every website owner out there today, but not all internet business owners and bloggers have enough cash laying around to spend on a competent writer. And, if a website owner happens to be able to write a little themselves, for generally less than $2 per article the website owner can have content on their topic of choice that allows them the freedom to add to and modify the articles as they see fit.
PLR Content – better than traditional usage rights content
There are quite a few websites online that will allow you to syndicate an article, generally unmodified, on your website for anywhere from $5 to $100+. While purchasing usage rights articles may give you somewhat unique content for your website – you can’t really do too much with the content other than paste it on your website and link to it. With PLR content, you’re spending substantially less money and receiving less-restrictive licensing for the content; most PLR content websites essentially let you do whatever you want to with the purchased private label rights product – more options for a lower price.
Private Label Rights Content trumps free article syndication
Many website owners, especially those who are low on funds, tend to lean heavily on free article directories for their website’s content. And, there’s nothing wrong with using a few well-written articles from article directories. However, you shouldn’t rely too heavily on this free content lest you get buried in search engines because of significantly duplicate content.
If you don’t have a lot of cash to play around with, the better way to setup your website or blog is to mix things up a bit; maybe use one syndicated article from a free article directory for every four original articles that you have. And if you incorporate PLR content into the equation, you can add some semi-unique or mostly unique content without breaking the bank.
Private label rights content isn’t reserved solely for those who are looking to profit from it directly, average website owners will find, if they look into it, that PLR products are an excellent way of adding content to their websites without having to pay an arm and a leg for it.
